Sara Bareilles - Kaleidoscope Heart

Sara Bareilles - Kaleidoscope Heart

Still working on this (which probably means I want to like it more than I do). It starts really strong. Love the a cappella intro. "Uncharted" is encouragingly thematic in tone, but not overly so in delivery, so it has more shelf life than Natasha Bedingfield's similar "Unwritten." "King of Anything" is great as the sophomore "Love Song." There's a lot of toe-tapping at the start. But the album is a bit top heavy. The latter tracks are solid, but the transition midway through makes me feel lulled into a more solemn mood without explaining how I got there.
